I find it astonishing and puzzling that England have only ever hosted the World Cup once! Which was 52 years ago!. We have the most watched league in the World and we invented the game and gave it to the World yet we've only ever held the competition once.
Yet there are countries who are not as well known for football but will be hosting it in the near and foreseeable future. Qatar will host it in 2022 and USA will host it alongside Mexico and Canada in 2026. The US will have hosted it twice and Mexico for the 3rd time but the UK gets overlooked. It doesn't make any sense.
The UK already has the stadiums, infrastructure and ease of travel all in place and ready to host the tournament. The UK could have a joint bid with Scotland and Wales and host group games, last 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals with the final being played at Wembley.
FIFA only have to look at how successful the Olympics, Rugby World Cup and Commonwealth games were.
