Thoroughly deserved win against twelve men on the pitch and a bunch of blind muppets in a VAR booth. Performance-wise, first half was the best stuff I've seen from England at a major tournament in twenty years, and we were just guilty of being profligate in front of goal. Second half we faded, and it started to look more like the standard England fare of playing at pedestrian pace and having no cutting edge, but with a poacher like Kane you're always in with a chance, and crucially he took it when it came.
No point getting carried away, because we'll doubtless have more of the same frustration against Panama, and Belgium will be a challenge on another level, but a good start is a good start however it comes.
