He was also well aware of Hillary Clinton's rueful comments re the significance of this action. IMO he was 'played' politically by the equivalent of a bunch of unscrupulous gangsters and he sounded regretful re 'making that call' and uttered what I perceived to be an implicit apology to her in an intractable situation for him and the FBI. He refuted any suggestion of 'taking sides' on it. The man is a law maker, an enforcer and definitely comes over as a good guy. Trump and his entourage are the exact opposite - how sickening and Comey describes them very accurately in his book!
