For two and a half years we've laboured without one, despite it being obvious even during the latter months of JT's time with us that we needed a new option (remember us going after Szabolcs Huszti in January 2012?)
I've struggled to believe that Irvine doesn't see or understand that we need a wide threat when it's such a basic and obvious problem, but I'm now hoping that it really is stubbornness on his part, because at least stubbornness can be changed. Because if we've arsed up another transfer window - if it turns out Varela's a crock, Blanco's useless and Samaras can't be arsed - then we really are monumentally knobbed.
The most alarming thing is,Irvine was a winger in his playing days and a good one at that as far as i remember.Yet he seems totally bereft of any wing playing ideas as a manager.........................will he be gone for Christmas? can't see where the next points are coming from......................
