He would probably score a few more than COG, so well worth consideration, he's only in his late 40's isn't he?
Why do we always end up with either Wednesdays or Uniteds outcasts and rejects?
It's strongly rumoured that Allen turned down an offer from a Swedish consortium of £10mill and a Local (Chesterfield) Group for a similar figure, then the Chinese deal which was scuppered again for a similar figure but it seems he is now going ahead with a pay as you run agreement with a group of dodgy dealers.
I say pay as you run because I can see them running away when they realize a certain Casino holder has them by the bollocks and isn't going to let go. Why take a hit on your investment (even if some of it is alleged to be fraudulent) when you can get some mugs to take over the day to day running with a long term promise of share / loan repayments.
A nice little clause that in the event of failure to meet said agreed payments when due results in an all bets off return to the original owner and Bobs your Uncle. They run off with their tails between their legs and with one spin of the roulette wheel a certain major player has had few grand in his pocket and still holds all the aces. Clever eh!.
No wonder the Chinese deal was scuppered.
When the club ends up stuck (literally) in the lower echelons of the Evo Stick Northern Premier League Div 1 our lord and paymaster can just blame even more "others" for our demise. It will make a change from blaming the fans.
