Well Buxton win as many as they lose ............ and they are only a division down from where we will probably be next season.
Our two most experienced players were Ricky German and Charlie Wakefield.
Our team kept a clean sheet, indeed for much of the game our goal remained unthreatened. Buxton put out a proper team including our former player Jack Broadhead and Diego's brother Nico and yet our young attack caused them problems
Charlie Wakefield was captain and obviously had a stormer. Our only downside, I can hardly bring myself to see as a negative, despite the fact I advocate good behaviour on the pitch. Young Levi Amantchi got sent off, but he got sent off after getting elbowed by Nico de Girolamo. I reckon Nico must be 25. He's a man who has been playing at the back at this level for quite a while. I somehow doubt Cosi produced a wimp, but despite the seven year age gap Levi had his go back and got sent off. I only stop short of saying well done, because he has to learn to stand up for himself intelligently and not to his team's disadvantage. But he's not short of guts! Let's look after him.
Looking to next season surely the promise is rich. Surely Parkin is worth another season, young Willock must be pressing for the first team, Sharman is calm and apparently does not get overawed playing against men, Ofoegbu always seems to get himself noticed, Brownell is progressing, Wakefield needs a reward now, like a return to the bench against Swindon, and German and Amantchi should be thinking they only need to climb one step up to be Conference players next season. And I forgot Hand, who Premiership clubs have taken a look at this season ............
They won't all be first team regulars next season of course, but hey they must be putting themselves on Jack's radar.
