Carson Interview

Though he seems to be a disaster and I don't trust him an inch, I hope Mr Carson is planning for next season. If he isn't, we are royally fkceud.

Dropping out of the league is a terrible thing, but it is only another relegation. There's a way back. Come top we're up, top seven out of twenty four and it's the play-offs at least. At the moment at least three from Sutton Utd, Boreham Wood, AFC Fylde, Bromley and Dover look likely to make it to the play-offs. It is a standard we ought to be able to match BUT we will need AC and DA either to be on-board, or overboard. If they are hanging on to the side of the ship, waving at low-flying passing aircraft, then we can probably forget it.

The same conditions would apply if we were to miraculously stay up.

Long-term, once the financial implications of the Barry Bennell debacle kick in Crewe will become worse-off than us, and may well end up re-forming as Alexandra FC or something. Man City can pay for what happened all those years ago, but Crewe have nothing to pay with ........ but the law and compensation claims churn slowly, too slowly to save us this season.

If Mr Carson is planning, he needs to realise that we aren't going down because Jack Lester can't select a team, or even because GC couldn't recruit worth a damn, but because our poor results do accurately reflect the way the club has been run for a number of years. I'm sure Mr Carson isn't blameless, but he isn't big enough to be the entire problem either. He could even become a force for good, if that were the way "the club" wanted to go.
