Drewks, I couldn't have been happier in '68 but, believe it or not, it was not too unexpected at the time: after all, we'd been one of THE teams of the Post-War (and before). And the '54 side (before my time) was considered to be the best footballing side of all time.
The actual excitement of the 2002 Promotion season was even better, though. It doesn't make sense, but that's how it was for me. That late win at Bradford, and the Palace game when there were 3 or 4 songs going on round all 4 sides of the Ground couldn't be bettered.
(Mind you, the celebrations on Hyde Park Corner waiting for the midnight coaches (in '68) will not be forgotten! Ahhhhhh)
