Salop, not quite sure if I understood this bit but having worked in London the term "Yid" is an abusive term used to describe Tottenham, I think it's to do with their Jewish roots ...... a bit like dingles. They maybe what their referring to ..... I do not know what is alleged to have been said exactly only that it referred to a sad and distressing time for Jake, his family and friends.
