Maybe, I'm not so sure MacGregor was in a position to clear it. The ball would have gone straight to the attacker if McCulloch had just left it.

Just watched it again and if McCulloch had left the ball, the attacker is clean in on goal. If McCulloch had been a few yards closer to the attacker (sorry, no idea who he was) he could have been able to make an easy header clear. MacGregor was never in a position to give a shout to McCulloch.
