I think what creates tension among the fans is not Pulis' sacking but his replacement with Pardew, so I think we need to separate the two, if that makes sense. I honestly believe sacking TP was the right decision; I don't buy the "he's never been relegated" argument as a reason for keeping him. We are fighting relegation because of him and, at some point, this "achievement " will come to an end. Having said that, it's a smart manager who creates a crisis so he can then solve it!
However, any initial results improvement under AP hasn't happened, there has been no "dead cat bounce". Most fans agree the football is better but the games slip by and the results don't come. I have to say that I was distinctly underwhelmed by Pardew's appointment but, like most people, was very prepared to give him a chance. I'm not sure where we go from here; I reckon we have him for the rest of the season whatever it brings as the Board would look completely stupid if we sacked him.
I really am pessimistic about our chances but, as said before, I've always enjoyed the Championship so don't see relegation as the end of the world. However if the Dingles and Seals Re promoted, then I think Armageddon will have arrived
