So Christian Aid's money has never bought guns?
So Oxfam's relief is never diverted to the rich and sold for profit?
So Charities and Charity workers never ignore all advice and plough their own furrow, to either eventual applause or condemnation?
So Mother Theresa was more or less than a self-righteous old bat scouring India's streets for the dying to carpet her floors?
Is Charity even a good thing? People trek across hundreds of miles of arctic waste and raise thousands, is it for the money and to help their fellow man or an excuse for the adventure they always craved? In truth aren't these things just a way to be, a way to give meaning to your own life, a relationship with being alive that benefits all involved?
Reputable scientists regularly fall into the trap of ignoring all disconfirming evidence to advance their own theory, so should we be surprised that an intelligent, but very self-willed singer pushes his charity into the hands of a killer alongside all the good work the money he has helped to raise has done? Blair arse-licked appalling dictators, Labour feted Ceaucescu, we complain the Saudis are waging a proxy war in the Yemen and supply the arms to do it. One of the big lessons of the slave trade was that "good men" not evil tyrants and criminals were involved. They built churches and hospitals and schools with the profits of inflicting misery on their fellow men.
Good men fkkuc-upp all the time and most of that time they think they are doing the right thing.
