But of course, there are tons of folk just as wealthy as Henry, or even richer, who wouldn't lift a finger for charity. Many of them probably have knighthoods too. I'm not sure you can put a number on the people who've had their lives changed for the better by Comic Relief in the last thirty years, but it has to stretch into the tens, maybe hundreds of thousands. I mean, if you want to knock him for his comedy or his theatrical aspirations or even his shit Premier Inn adverts then I'd probably agree, but it just seems a bizarre gripe to downplay his charitable work which has made such a genuine, material difference.

And I say that as someone who's given up more than a few weekends in my time to shake a tin on some cold street, without any recognition for it. I know I could never do what Lenny Henry's done, even if I had the wealth, because it takes more than just your time. (Same goes for Blind Dave, hence why they both deserve an honour, and I don't).
