The big problem with playing surfaces nowadays is that nobody has the patience to sow a pitches properly. It`s easier and less time consuming to bring in lorry loads of pre sown turf and kid on it gives a true playing surface.
We`ve seen it in several grounds, especially Hampden, when the surface is re-laid a few days before an important game. Look at the surface after the game and it`s like a plowed field. With the temperatures forecast over the next week there is no chance that the pitch will get the chance to recover from yesterday so a trying time is in store for our players. If we manage a draw it will be a satisfactory evenings work.
