I hate strikes or boycotts, so I'll disagree, only because I'd prefer to see the game. No offence Drewks.

So, you'd obviously refuse to accept Pay increases and better working conditions, Bob. Fair play to you.

Striking for a pay rise is counterproductive, no pay for say three months on a 20k salary is £5000, get a 3% pay rise, £600 per annum, eight to nine years to cover your losses ....... so you lose, your family lose and your company lose. This is a little simplified but you get the gist.

They certainly made a big sacrifice for us in the 20s/30s then, Eva. Without such sacrifices we'd all be working 50 hour weeks with no holiday pay for a f***ing pittance. Not so "counterproductive" as it sounds, eh?

Talksaft, mate, don't want to have a row, the miners were on strike for a year ...... we now have no miners and no mines, the newspapers went on strike about modernization, we now have less newspaper men (printers etc) but have automated printing presses and in the seventies we had a car industry, wouldn't modernise, always on strike, lost millions, take over after take over, all the cherries picked .... bye bye British car industry, I could go on ...... you mention the 20/30's, they improved workers rights ..... but where are we now, minimum wage, zero hour contracts, very little in way of workers rights. No disrespect intended but fighting in that manner entrenches both sides ... unions got to strong now bosses too strong, a sensible middle ground where people talk and resolve their issues would be preferable ......
Add to that profiteering from the multinationals and the working classes lose out all ways ....

Sorry drewks ...... same argument really, big and powerful do what they want and bugger the little man in this case the fans. Back to the German protest (strike) .... don't like direct action but when your backs against the wall and you can't escape, you can only fight
