I'd no objection to Holmewood. They were hard men, but that meant they didn't moan if you had some hard lads up against them.

Only bad thing about them was occasionally a Holmewood team would fold and start up again under a different name a bit lower down. But then I suppose as most of their team were local any team from the village came from a small-ish pool of players.

I always felt a bit sorry for Rat. You're in a Care Home and everyone who comes in and asks, "How's it going Rat?" It isn't great is it? But then marking Phillip Deakin doesn't sound as difficult as coming up against Rat does it?

You made me laugh saying it was a good grounding. I thought yeah I've seen Holmewood ground quite a few people .... more or less permanently.

By the way I've a feeling Mr Ennis was Dr Ennis when I first saw him. There was some older guy, who I think the rumour was you steer clear of his operating table ............ But Ennis impressed me. Shame the operation didn't do anything for your missus's pants.
