SPFL2 (Championship) 22/11/2014, Heart of Midlothian 2-0 Rangers
That was a feisty match in which Rangers were lucky to only have one man (Smith) sent off, as Miller and Boyd were yellow carded for similar lunging, studs up, tackles. The dismissal meant it was 10 v 11 from the 20th minute. Up to the dismissal I could see Rangers winning the match, but afterwards it was a holding exercise that failed, due to a goal from a ricochet and a needless penalty. On the tactics, it was too many long balls to an isolated Jon Daly, hoofing tactics that were as fruitless today as against Hibernian.
Hearts kept the ball on the deck for the most part and consequently played better.
The points gap is now 9, so there is a lot of catching up to do.
Match Report : Rangers FC - Hearts 2-0 Rangers
Attendance : 17,004 - 1,300 Rangers Fans.
Manager's verdict : Rangers FC - Red Card Was Turning Point
