As we all know when he was first appointed, Albion were in very great danger of being relegated and I believe that at that time Pulis was probably the only man with sufficient experience of fighting a rear-guard action in the Premiership. So I welcomed his appointment then.

But time is something that Pulis has had in abundance since; whether you think that he has had a fair crack of the whip during transfer periods or not.
I think that most of us are realists when it comes to potential success and recognise that we are never going to be able to compete for a top 6 place.
So, if at best, we can only hope to achieve a respectable mid table finish each year, let us at least do it in the style of football for which West Brom were once renowned.

I can't get to the Hawthorns these days, walking difficulties preclude me. But I do look at the stats and see us being very much second best in terms of shots on goal, possession etc. even when we are playing at home against teams that are below us in the league table.
From reading the many comments on here, I think that it is very sad that this issue is causing division amongst some of the most loyal fans in the Country. Gates appear to be down, season ticket sales are down and we are regularly last match shown on 'Match of the Day'.

Pulis can't complain that money isn't available for new players.
Good quality players have been brought in (Rondon, Chadli, Evans,Livermore etc.) and yet we don't seem to be playing to their strengths but, rather asking them to adhere to a system that none of them seem to enjoy and hence, they eventually stop performing and giving of their best.

How often has the 'square pegs in round holes' expression been used.
