MERSE SAYS: Gareth Barry is a great signing. Fans of other clubs will be looking at that and wondering why they weren't in for him. Kieran Gibbs wasn't good enough for Arsenal, but will be solid for West Brom. Darren Fletcher is a strong signing, Jay Rodriguez is decent and Oliver Burke will offer pace. Plus they kept Jonny Evans, so it has to be a high grade. Tony Pulis is a shrewd, shrewd manager.
