Er ..... pins and needles could be a symptom of something very serious. In a friendly I think get the lad off the field and checked out is a very professional response. Much more professional I might add than play the keeper injured in the 46th game of the season ........... and lose him for the following season.
Like Dancing I fear we are going to get physiqued out of it in midfield even when not simply outplayed by many Div 2 teams unless we make signings. And if you lose out in midfield, defence and attack both suffer.
I'd be happy to be proved wrong by this team. But I can't help comparing the team we're building to some of the apparently ordinary teams in the division. Our options up front look quite good, but Stevenage have five options up front too. They include a 6'6" ins centre forward and a prolific goalscorer from the lower leagues. We've got ten defenders but Carlisle for instance don't even seem worried that Mark Ellis has become a free agent and I could find room for him in our back three. And the other day Accrington signed Richards-Everton from Scotland, a player I used to advocate us signing, who spent last season on the injury list. That gives them two big powerful centre backs who'll lead the way to plenty of clean sheets.
When you look, even in areas we would imagine we are strong, other teams are building too. So what does that say about midfield where we already think we are relatively weak? Matt is right, it isn't easy being a Spireite.
