I once met Alan (AC) Smith the former Warwickshire wicket keeper and, I think, England selector.

Regrettably, he was not such a nice bloke as he berated one of my cashiers who, not being a cricket fan, didn't know him from Adam.

Also got fairly friendly with former Wales scrum half Robert Jones and his former father-in-law Clive Rowlands.
Last saw Clive in a Swansea Hospital where we were both awaiting heart by pass operations and to pass the time the evening before his own operation, Clive joined us on the ward and went through his entire 'after dinner' repertoire which had us all in stitches (pun intended). A very funny bloke.

Although they were not sports stars, I can claim to have served a couple of famous actresses when working at a Bank in Birmingham.  One was Donald Pleasance's daughter but ,especially pleased to have helped Julie Christie long before she became famous.

Wouldn't have minded going a set or two with her.
