Actually, most one year rolling contracts don't need to be negotiated each year as that not how they work. Essentially if you signed one today, you have a one year contract from today, but it automatically moves to a full year forward every day you work there. It means that the manager always has a year left irrespective of when he is hired or fired, and the club never have to pay more than a year compensation once they decide to get rid. Celtic have done their managers contracts like that for a while.
