Thought he was a breath of fresh air - great personality and played the game in exactly the right way for us.
A great fit.
(Seems a million light years from where we are now)
Roberto Di Matteo is probably my favourite Head Coach/Manager that there has been at West Brom in my 15 years of supporting the club. (I only starting following football and West Brom when I was 10 years old) He had his faults but I supported him 100% from the start of his reign to the end and he always had a plan B and if something didn't work he would change it. He wouldn't do a Roy Hodgson or Tony Pulis of sticking with the same plan hoping it will eventually work. Der wahnsinn.
Unfortunately for him since leaving Chelsea he hasn't been able to find a club that he can build something with. At Schalke he was under immense pressure from the start to over-achieve with the club and suffered from injuries to best players and then failed at Aston Villa.
If he was ever inclined to want to come back to the Albion, I would definitely have him back.
