I think the team was trying under Danny, as much as any team does when it contains an up and down player like Jay O'Shea, but it wasn't quite imbued with Danny's spirit. I don't think it is any easier to pass on a commitment level you find natural than it is to pass on skills you had mastered by the age of nine ........ (Bobby Charlton could never get players to do what he could hardly help doing on a pitch!)

I think serious injury blunted some of SEB's ability. But I also think he has taken the lazy man's option since. He's taken big money from us and returned NOTHING. And I'd have no worries about dropping a laughable supposed top-scorer who's notched a couple of times since August. When we have next to no efforts on goal it can't be just the fault of the midfield can it?

This playing-for-your-contract old-proing used to be commonplace. Now with so much media and social media coverage it is rarer. Not only is SEB outdated and behaving like a relic from a bygone era, he's now not even in the bargain bucket. Unless some idiot at Chesterfield steps in, he won't be in league football next season.
