I dont agree a team deserve to lose because the other team hit the woodwork .A football game has thousands of what ifs ,If we hadn't gifted them 2 goals they would have only scored 1 .There's a famous old adage round these parts which says 'if my auntie had a penis she would be my uncle !.
The fact is Peterborough didnt deserve to win the game because they couldn't score more goals than us ,its irrelevant how many shots they had or how many times they hit the woodwork.
Admittedly the law of averages says if a team has the most shots then more times than not they will win but the most important thing is the accuracy of the shot surely.If a team has 10 shots and scores 1 and the other team has 2 shots and scores 2 then who deserves to win ?.The bottom line is there is only one stat that matters and that is the scoreline.
