There is a ton of stuff that we could be critical of Turkey for, including what this referendum is about as well. But for me its the image of one side of a domestic political election being given the right to campaign in a foreign country. I see nothing wrong with Turks living in Holland holding their own meeting etc, but for top Government officials fighting on the Yes side to be there is wrong in my opinion. Surely unless the Netherlands government is supporting one side or the other, then the No campaign should have the right to hold their own rally as well?? And then where do you stop? Domestic politics should remain within the domestic borders, not be carried out in other countries.
