I'm sure Hibs have never won an Embro Derby under Thomson's officiation since his inception into Scottish top flight footie in 2003! Don't you find that a wee bit unusual??? However, tie that in with his known affiliation to Hearts for a period during the 1990s and that draws us closer to a clash of views on how a Scottish footie ref can possibly be classed as fully impartial when officiating said fixtures incl more important ones! Also Thomson's resurrection to officiating an Embro Derby at Tynecastle during Hibs Scottish Cup winning season last year was as described - a return to a fixture after a lengthy period when he was discreetly omitted from 'touching it' by the SFA and he'd be 'expected', after consultation, to ref this fixture impeccably and try to avoid any controversial issues if poss.
