I have gone on about it before.
The price of food & beverages at S6 isn't really out of line with any other ground. The pies are pretty good & are fair value. I would much rather support my club by having pie & peas in the ground than buy a burger outside the ground.
However, the beers are poor and soft drinks & snacks are overpriced. A bottle of Oasis is £2.40 in the ground and £1 just outside the ground. We buy three for the journey home so obviously we buy them from the shop.
My main argument is the atmosphere where you get your pie & a pint. We have no giant screen. We don't even have decent plasma screens in the concourses. In the north stand, there are 16 24" home TVs screwed to the wall. At the last match, only six were working. The quality of service is also an issue although it is great when you receive more change than you paid - this has happened twice to me. One season it was seven matches before we were charged the correct price for two pie & peas.
The embarrassing bit is that much smaller clubs than us are getting it right. Wednesday fans have the lowest average match day spend of all 92 clubs. Is it that we are tight or is it the surroundings?
Think Doncaster was the best last season for pre match food & beverages.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
