It's known for a fact we offered Fonte at Southampton more money to join us than West Ham ..
We were first to offer terms that were agreed before our scouts once again found a player for West Ham...

Yeah, I lean towards this view. No matter how much money we offer we're still up against this mentality of players who'd rather live and play in London for a lesser club (according to the league table
) than come up here. I'll be disappointed if we can't add anyone else, but we really shouldn't just be signing any old dross for the sake of signing someone. Going down the Wolves/Villa road will, astonishingly, not lead us anywhere good.
