Additionally, if you look at it from a Scottish perspective Jim, Scotland contributes about £270M pa to the EU and the 'economic return' is approx £1.7 billion. Hence, I could never figure why so many opponents of Nicola Sturgeon have been 'giving her stick' from the Brexit declaration onwards apart from 'playing anti SNP politics'!! I'm assuming there's a similar proportionate 'return' for the rest of the UK but I've never heard any reference to what I regard as a highly relevant economic figure in that whole referendum debate instead of 'banging on' negatively about the immigration issues etc.
