Jellyfish Warning

When we lose every week do you find your worries about the club surfacing all together in one amorphous jellyfish blob?

Morgan worries me big-time. He was Sheff Utd's most-sent-off player wasn't he? If he'd done what he did to Ian Hume on the street, he'd have gone to prison. Now he trains our players ...... come-back players briefly surface and return to the injured list, players go down injured in training the day before a game ..... Don't you wonder what kind of input he gives into team selection? And how we train?

Ricky German now worries me. He's a young, physically advanced player, who has looked absolutely the business at lower levels, but in the first team he seems to be committing far more fouls than I've seen from him before. He comes on in the 88th minute and still manages to commit a foul! What is being said to him? Is he getting the impression he has to prove himself a big, tough man? It is ability that will make his career, not physique - that is a gift. Is this Morgan's influence? I worry we'll ruin Ricky.

Injuries worry me. Have you ever known so many? There has to be a reason for them. The training is an obvious one, but we seem to have gained injuries since we enlisted the more professional assistance of Mr Wylde. The care's better yet it seems we are losing out by providing it!????

It worries me that our manager has recruited only cheap players who have an element of the gamble about them, when our established professionals are unable to provide a sound basis upon which some of them might flourish. Lee, Jones (and Angel who is an old pro' if not established with us) are all long-term injuries. Evatt is getting older and his partner Hird does not have the physical capacity to cope with a partner who is slowing down (and Raglan has been discarded as the solution). SEB seems to have lost it forever, O'Shea too rarely finds his form and enthusiasm at the same time, Gardner appears still to have a non-league attitude and Liddle who was supposed to provide the foundation for the team never has ........  So - any sparkle we have has to come from Evans (4 years out of the game) and Ariyibi (who is young and seems to have taken a step backwards). Our developing players are left covering the gaps created by all this AND you can't just get yourself a load of established, successful players, so how can we avoid relegation? And if we kept Danny, or replaced him, would he or the new manager have any budget?

It also worries me that our games tend to follow a pattern. We don't score. If we reach halftime scoreless we will then concede early in the second half. On the rare occasions we avoid that we can relied upon to concede in the last five minutes. To me this suggests a problem inside the heads of the players, not only isn't the team good enough, it knows it isn't and at the game's crucial moments it is ready to lose.

What do you think? What are your worries?
