Brentford incomings
The Bees have been busy during the preseason window, selling some for vast amounts and bringing in a vast amount of new players
Raya, Jansson, Nbeumo, jensen, Norgaard and Pinnock for fees varying between £3 million and 6 million plus a couple of other for at least two million which you can do if you keep selling players for over 10 million.

Real football returns after the International break and the usual hectic schedule until the next break, The next few weeks will see us play 4 teams whose intial begins with B and two sides whose first name begins with M some bargain games coming up(possibly might pass a few by that one.
First up Brentford does not seem like a couple a weeks ago since we failed to turn up at Griffin Park being well and truly bounced 3-0. In fact since we hammered them 3-1 in September 2011 under Tango Man the Bees have had a non too shabby record against us.
Last season we won 4-3 it was one of Thomas Frank's first games, took him a while to get his team progressing but since he has esteblished his style of play the Bees are probably one of the better sides we will play this season

Their away record let them down last season when they finished 14th expect them to be play off contenders.
Main danger main Ollie Watkins, who I still reckon we should have signed.

Team wise Barkhuizen, Hughes, Clarke and Nugent may be fit and we may even start with a forward this week, this actually promises to be a decent game so 0-0 coming up.

Match Officials: Brentford Home

Taking charge of his first Preston North End game of 2019 this weekend is match official David Coote.
We haven’t seen the referee since he was the man with the whistle for the Lilywhites’ trip to Sheffield Wednesday just before Christmas last year, sending off Ben Pearson at Hillsborough.

The select group official, has refereed this fixture before, looking after the October 2017 clash with the Bees, as well as that season’s New Year’s Day game against Middlesbrough, his two North End games in 2017/18.

He was following two visits the previous season as well, including February’s 2-1 home win over Queens Park Rangers and also the first home game of the season when we took on Derby County in PR1.

Before that Rams clash, he last refereed the Lilywhites in their goalless draw at the New York Stadium against Rotherham United in 2015/16.
He was the referee of two PNE games the year before that as well. His first game of 2014/15 was the entertaining clash with Milton Keynes at Deepdale back in December 2014. He then took charge of the 2-2 draw at home to Gillingham in April of that year too.
2013/14 his two games in charge of North End were the 2-2 draw at home to Bradford City early on in the campaign and then at Tranmere Rovers’ Prenton Park for our 2-1 win over the Super Whites in February 2014.

So far this season, he has taken charge of just two games, Sheffield United’s first home Premier game, when they overcame Crystal Palace and Blackburn’s goalless home draw with Cardiff City – issuing four yellow cards in each fixture.

He will be assisted by Nick Hopton and Mark Dwyer, whilst the fourth official will be Ross Joyce.

Preston North End 2 Maguire Barkhuizen Brentford 0

PNE: Rudd, Fisher, Bauer, Davies, Rafferty, Ledson (Gallagher 55), Browne, Bodin (Harrop 65), Johnson, Maguire, Barkhuizen (Potts 81). Subs (not used): Storey, Green, Stockley, Ripley.

Brentford: Raya, Henry, Jansson, Dalsgaard, Jeanvier, Jensen (Dasilva 73), Mbeumo (Mokotjo 65), Canos, Norgaard, Benrahma, Watkins. Subs (not used): Thompson, Pinnock, Valencia, Zamburek, Daniels.

Referee: David Coote (Nottinghamshire)

Attendance: 12,873 (579 away)

Took Brentford six minutes to touch the ball in our half by which time we had already scored, flying start by the Whites series of corners from the last ball cleared to Ledson perfect ball back in Maguire in acres of space simpe finish.

The Bees recovered from the early set back to dominate with the ball, play some great passing football but apart from a Benrahama power drive from distane which was palmed away by Rudd rarely tested the home keeper although might have been different if Mbeumo had controlled the ball as he went through.with only Rudd in front of him. We defended well as a unit and possibly should have done better when we got in down the sides a couple of times with Bodin.
Canos caused us problems however after listening to the boss on the way home it was planned to give him plenty of space bit risky though. Henry on the other flank was also giving us trouble as well but credit to Fisher did some usefule defensive work.
Personal view at half time needed a second.
Bees again dominated look good on the ball had a Benrahama free kick go inches wide and Watkins got in but was denied by Rudd with his legs, introduction of Harrop to my view changed the game with his ability to take men on withthe ball.
Just before the clincher Bees boss Frank was having a melt down about some his teams play and then the coup de gras, Rafferty, crossfield to Fisher ball inside Barkhuizen goal, job done. Bees could not find a way three and apparently three points from the top.
Bauer got man of match but Rafferty is putting in some sterling play at left back.
Pep next Saturday and Pep next Tuesday.

And get the feeling we might take some shifting from them considering two had to drop out of the side less than 24 hours before the game
