Remember this money grabbing SOB at Sunderland?

Former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan has completed a move to Chinese club Shanghai SIPG, with reports suggesting his wages are in excess of £225,000 per week.

The 29-year-old has signed a two-year contract after completing a medical and ends a four-year stint at UAE champions Al Ain.

According to the Daily Mirror, the deal will see him earn £227,000 per week - a substantial pay increase after earning a weekly salary of £160,000 in UAE.

The new deal would would make him one of the highest-paid footballers in the world.

Shocking salary for a decent but hardly world beating player!!!! I am sure the Chinese league want to increase their profile and I am sure they can throw whatever money at it they want but this is an awful move by them!! Thankfully this story is not about some middle of the road Premier league team throwing this sort of silly money around, although some of the deals being muted are not far off this crazy!!
