In today's EEN Lenny puzzled by the lack of good form/results but looking for a reaction to what I 'd call a 'mini slump'. We're not significantly threatened in this league yet but, with our superior resources and backing, we should be streaking away with this league title. IMO there's no conundrum re this issue - goals win games and we are creating lotsa scoring opps but certain Hibs players are not 'delivering the goods'. The manager said that he and his coaching staff are doing the right things on the training ground. If that's the case then these players are not transferring their training commitment on to real matches. Please sort it Neil - the talking is over and move these players out of their 'comfort zone'!

Unfortunately it's not a new problem. We've suffered from the same attitude for a number of years now. We're quite good at raising our game against the "bigger" teams, but it's the "lesser" teams that are getting a boost, knowing that we can't finish off games when we are on top.
If Lennon had done his homework on Hibs before he came, he would surely realise that this is a regular occurrence. Good luck to him on getting it sorted out, but it'll definitely test his patience.

One suggestion that I know a lotta Hibs fans would frown upon would be playing these lesser sides, with their 'backs to the wall' tactics, at their own game and defend not to lose, save ourselves for the final quarter of a match and raise the tempo during that period. However, the main focus would be on not losing goals and deploying a 'blanket of defensive cover' that doesn't allow any threatening movement of opposition players. It would bore the pants off all fans within the stadium rather than opposition fans watching this kinda boring shit for most of the game in which their team is trying to compete and doing it badly but we are not punishing them enough!!!

To be fair the games with ayr and queens were played a man down for a fair amount of time,i think they would have seen narrow hibs wins with 11 on the park and things would be looking pretty good!

I still believe our main prob is a striking one and it appears that we lack the prolific goal scorer who will score the requisite 25 goals in this league. We are also not scoring enough from attacking mid positions. The scoring opps are there but not being converted. Look at Saturday's match stats - Forster was a massive offender for not scoring a single goal from terrific penetrating free kicks by Keatings. Keatings 'blotted his copy book' by not converting a Gray low pass at the back post. McGeouch hit a wonderful 25 yard shot that beat Langfield 'all ends up' but it bounced off the Saint Mirren post - Hibs mid players don't do this enough and it was the same scenario during Stubbs' era!
I'm already looking towards the Jan transfer window and improving what we've got. Two players of interest are at Celtic 'gathering dust' - Kris Commons and Hendo! I'd hope that Lennon would try to prise them from Rodgers' grasp at least for the remainder of the season. IMO they would add another 'dimension' to this Hibs team and the improvement would be huge.

I still have a wee vibe that commons might come to hibs and play out his deal. He is nowhere near quick enough to play the kind of football Rodgers has celtic playing currently and remains close friends with lennon.
Henderson is not even getting a spot on the bench, but I heard the deal broke down between us as and celtic as the player does not want another loan deal.

Liam Fontaine is finally ready to return from injury after a lengthy recovery period. It's positive news for a change although I think Fonts is about 3rd in Lenny's 'pecking order' of CBs TBF.
