The boy's on fire !.
Hat trick for the yoof team then goes and scores two for the reserves today. Is it time to put him on the bench for the first team ? In front of Simons ?
He's a big lad and was decent in pre season what little I saw of him. As the old adage goes If you're good enough you're old enough.
I also notice Oscar Gobern turned out for us today ,free agent .
He was crap when we had him last time but fitness may have been an issue. He has played his soccer at a decent level and is only 25.id give him a short contract ,worth a gamble.

Wouldn't say Gobern was crap Blue. Unfit yes after months out through injury, he played some fantastic through balls but his lack of fitness made him look lazy and fans got on his back.
He could do a job for us if fully fit.

I think German is going to be a star IF he can do it in the Grown-Up game. And the reserves suggest he could make the leap. He should be on the first team bench AS WELL AS Simons. You get seven subs, most of them should be potential game-changers not covers for injury.

Personally I'd be looking to play German, because we have two forwards potentially capable of playing at a better level in Gboly and Evans. It would have to be good for him. After Christmas we won't have that luxury and he'll have missed that experience. Start him with the good players.

When you see German in clips of the juniors he seems to be directing play. He knows how to play, where to be. He's older in his head than Pooch's disliked Simons. But remember Simons is still young enough to learn.

As for Gobern, Huddersfield weren't that impressed, but we do need midfield cover. I'd be prepared to gamble, but it might be out of desperation ........
