Newcastle have trimmed their squad a little by letting 3 players go out on loan, Kyle Cameron, Jamie Sterry and Emmanuell Riviere.

I understand a fee - thought to be about £29m - has been agreed between Leicester and Sporting for Algerian striker Islam Slimani
We told you earlier that Moussa Sissoko had been allowed to leave France's training camp to finalise a transfer and Tottenham could be his destination. It is ridiculous money for the Championship. As I said yesterday. Villa & Burton are in the same league yet world's apart.
I suppose we're not necessarily being left behind, we're just making too small of progress to keep up. IMO. Whilst last seasons signings and squad were a cut above the previous season. When we let absolute dross like Buxton & Kirkland etc go. You have to take into consideration how poor these players were at Champ level. Most of those releases are plying their trade in L1. We needed big improvements just to keep ourselves in the Championship itself. For the most part we did this, and still I feel the squad over-achieved considering the depth, and calibre of player available. Now we need to continue those improvements, we need to accept Hunt was an improvement over Buxton or whoever Wallace a huge improvement over every one we've had to loan as a winger cuz the Club sold our only one. However, Hunt & Wallace still aren't good enough. Unless we make moves in this market, real moves of intent and not just little bits of improvement. The only way we'll be making the PO is by players & management a like being more than the sum of their parts. We're supposedly making a bid for Adam Reach. Just seen that, Kev. Why am I feeling like we've left everything til the last minute, and are hoping it works out? I've a feeling we'll be hearing a statement from CC tomorrow saying something like " We tried to sign players blah blah"
