Group fixtures have been released. We're in with Gillingham, Luton and Millwall. Strange to consider they're all clubs who our first team used to play regularly not so long ago.
First game will be Millwall away at the end of August, then Luton away in October, and Gillingham at home in November.

Another down point for this crazy system. The matches are due to be played during the international breaks, so the young lads who this crazy idea is meant to be helping will be away playing u21 international matches.

Seems to be a mixed bag of results as far as U21 sides in general are concerned. Us, Wolves, Swansea, Stoke, Derby, Brighton, Middlesbrough, Blackburn and West Ham all lost, some quite heavily, and not many wins or draws for youth teams, though Norwich did hammer Peterborough.
Also, for all the talk of this being "the Premier League stealing a trophy", seems about half the youth sides in this competition are from Championship clubs. Just saying

28 year old Frenchman scored for Norwich, funny really I thought they were trying to help English talent
Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?

Well there we have it for all of those concerned about the Premiership clubs dominating, West Brom knocked out by Luton.
