Is that a wolf in their badge or a black dog?
Huddersfield Town v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Saturday 27th August
3PM
We come into this one top, top, top of the league! It's grand to not feel like we are being trampled under foot! Wolves aren't far behind us in 3rd so, on paper, is a close one and could promise to be a battle of evermore. Or is it? Overall we are very evenly tied; we have 34 wins to their 32. However, we have won most of our meetings in recent times. Our last time out was at the JSS and it finished 1-0 with Nahki the scorer. The previous meeting at Molineux was a heartbreaker for us as we suffered a 3-0 defeat with a goal coming from Kevin McDonald and two from our old friend Benik Afobe. The long walk up to the away supporters stand was no stairway to heaven that day.
Sorry if I ramble on like a Black Country woman.
One player we had a whole lotta love for was Conor Coady. We sold him to Wolves last season.

That's the dazed and confused face of someone who wonders what he has done.
One that's moved the other way is Rajiv van La Parra.

Celebration Day as he signed for Town.
Also played for both, Steve Kindon, Adam Hammill (now at Barnsley) and Benik Afobe (now at Bounemouth).

Walter Zenga is the new manager at Wolves.

It's his first time either managing or playing in England. He spent most of his senior career at Inter Milan and managed a load of clubs all over the world, most of which I haven't heard of.
He has made two season-long loan signings today; Cameron Borthwick-Jackson from Man Utd and Ola John from Benfica. These join loanees Helder Costa from Monaco and Joao Teixeira from Benfica. Permanent signings are Jon Dadi Bodvarsson from Kaiserlautern and Prince Oniangue from Reims. Bodvarsson has already got two goals. Although he is not their highest scorer, that's Joe Mason who's on three.
Did you know? ....
Wolves wear gold and black because of the city's motto "out of darkness cometh light" and the gold and black represent the dark and light.
Billy Wright who played his entire career for Wolves was the first to get 100 caps for playing for England. He also married one of the Beverley Sisters. They did girl power way before the Spice Girls!

Let's talk Rock and Roll. Robert Plant is a massive Wolves fan.

So, mighty terriers, the song remains the same (at least in Red Star's version), bring it on home to Huddersfield!
As you will know Robert Plant formed part of Led Zeppelin. Perhaps some of you have already noticed a few of their songs cropping up in this match preview. How many have you got? Rep point to the first with the correct total.
