Shane worked his socks off last night - so did McClean.
Did anyone else notice that 1/2 the N.I. team the night before DIDN'T sing "God Save The Queen".
It makes Jimmy Mac seem quite normal. We should give him a break.

No real surprise GEB given our struggle to create clear chances and score in group stage.
Last nights performance was disgraceful from an England team - worse even than sometimes watching us.
I too was surprised that the name Gareth Southgate was being banded about. He may be doing good things with the kids but I fear he isn't a strong enough a character to manage England. Eddie Howe for me.

All par for the course, sadly. I've defended Roy a lot over the last four years because he was working with a team in transition, but this time the buck had to stop with him. A crop of young, enthusiastic, undoubtedly talented attacking players ended up looking like absolute plodders for all except the second forty-five minutes against Wales.
Oh, and how Joe Hart continues to keep that number one shirt is beyond me, because the likes of Scott Carson and Rob Green became absolute footballing lepers after just one mistake in goal for England. Hart's doing them in every sodding match and is still the golden boy!

I'm as patriotic as most, and proud to be English.........however, I was surprised to find myself much more excited when Ireland qualified by beating Italy than I was when WE went through.
Add to this the fact that today I haven't been sulking, and kicking the cat - I've actually found us losing to ICELAND (FFS!) quite funny.
That's how thrilling I find the England team.
How sad is that?
....oh, and don't get me started on Joe Hart ...
