All-time League Positions - upto 2015-16
#1
Albion remain in 11th position, and will probably never move from 11th in my lifetime.

No consideration is given to points accumulated, games won, or goals scored.
Based purely on League position since The Football League's.
inauguration (1888) these are the top 40 Clubs.

The League champions are awarded 92 League pts,
whilst the bottom team in League 2 are awarded 1 League point.

(Between 1924 and 1950, there were only 88 Clubs in the League,
and so the League champions gained 88 League pts.
Between 1888 (12 Clubs) and 1923 (86 Clubs) there were varying
nos of League members. The Champs get 12 pts (for example) for
winning the 1888-89 season,
When there were 2 Division 3s (North & South), the winners would have
each received 49 pts, whilst the runners-up both got 47.

Why do all the Pulis lovers conveniently forget that we finished 8th under Steve Clarke playing some cracking stuff?
The Albion will never move on as a club as fans always think small time and seem happy having someone like
Pulis in charge who`ll always scrape survival with fluky dour 1-0 wins.

Why have you changed this post into something that has NO relevance to the post at all ?   Angry

So let me get this straight, just so I'm clear on things.

A well written, well thought out post on All Time League Positions that clearly shows that historically, we're ranked 11th in the country based on our league performance is a platform for you to bang on about people supposedly forgetting about the 2012-13 season? (Just a quick FYI by the way, we're only 6 points worse off this season)

I genuinely don't know how you interpret what you read whilst you're on here rainbow, but I'd struggle to find one poster I'd call a Pulis lover. I'd also say that The Albion have been moving on as a club for a decade now given our journey to get where we are now. As many other posters have pointed out (mainly St Charles Owl) there are lots of "big" clubs in the Championship and below that would trade places with us in a heartbeat.

Yes, we all want to see more entertaining football; but speaking for myself I don't want us to go too far the other way A la Mowbray and spunk all of our transfer funds on soft footed forwards who'll tiki-taka us right the way to 20th and relegation. We were lucky it didn't go that way under Mel imo.

Let's see what the summer holds transfer wise is what my approach is for now. And let's face it, Peace has always pulled the trigger at the right time so far if it's needed doing.

You can bet he'll do the same again if it's needed if things aren't working out for TP as well.

Tibby, great post and pretty much mirrors my views exactly ..... a little time to freshen the squad and so what develops.

Agreed 4eva but, my concern is that TP's recruitment history does not make particularly inspiring reading.

I just hope that someone else at the Club has the ability to veto possible transfers in if deemed necessary or rather unnecessary i.e. more CB's.

Silver, again I agree, hopefully Nicky Hammond will be more of an Ashworth rather than crushed Garlick and our diamonds in the rough could once again be discovered.

From reading a bit about the guy 4eva it is certainly suggested that Hammond actually mentored/taught Ashworth.  I guess a lot of it is down to the scouting network as well though.

That's bumped Hammond up 100% in my estimation if he did mentor Ashworth. Hugely important rebuild this summer and glad he's overseeing it.
