Mirf - a question for you, (and for the rest of you as well) what would you consider as successful season and what would be a realistic goal that Wagner should be set next season??

As an interested observer of your team, I think the appointment of Wagner could well prove to be a very good decision by DH who will no doubt be better able to raid the much cheaper European markets than any of your previous managers. I believe his style of play will replicate what Klopp is trying to do at Liverpool, a team that attacks but works very hard in defence. Putting together a team capable of that and have the quality to rise up the table will be no easy task, but this summer will be key in his quest towards that. To me it's a very risky but potentially game changing appointment, similar to the one we made with Carvahal, which so far has worked very well!!

As regards FFP, there is so much money in the Championship at the moment, a lot of which is ex-Prem money which neither you nor us can realistically compete with over a long period of time. But the relaxing of the FFP rules which allows clubs to make 39m losses over a 3 year period means that some clubs, such as SWFC can push out the boat a bit more to try to compete (our Chairman has said we are still inside the FFP rules as well). IMHO your problem is two fold, not enough bums on seats (your biggest income generator) and only 40% ownership of the stadium (potentially your 2nd biggest revenue generator) so unless DH is prepared to push the new FFP rules and finance the 39m loss then it's going to be difficult for you to rise much further than midtable. But as I said, a manager like Wagner may just allow you to make up that difference. You new ST offer is great for fans, but unless the club sells significantly more than they currently do then in the end the revenue will take another hit, not a problem unless you really want to compete.

Mid table and by that I mean 12th would be good.

However, by the sound of it we are pushing the boat out a bit for next season so Dean may want a higher finish in return for his spondoolies

We will surprise a lot of people next season. Why shouldn't we be where Brighton are?

Theres no reason we cant do a Brighton snoots. Theres always a dark horse(s) each season and if waggers gets the players he wants we could.

But like wakey said somewhere around 12th wouldnt be a disaster, it would be more of a platform for future seasons. We may have to take it step by step. Bad things normally happen to those who try to make huge leaps before they are truly ready

Owl,

I'd also settle for a mid table position and a season, where for the first time since our return to the championship, the risk of relegation is not on the agenda. Smile

Whilst I believe Warner has done a decent job, everything now hinges on what signings we make in the close season and one thing is for sure, we can't have another season where we ship 70 goals. Doh

Whilst I'd also like to see fellow Yorkies Wednesday win the play-off's, I can't realistically see beyond Brighton, or preferably Hull. Dodgy
