Football and the media are cruel things.

Tony Pulis has done the job asked of him by JP - We were safe with games in hand. Money in the bank and an opportunity to invest an kick on next season has been secured.  That would make them both happy people if it were not for the press, TV commentators and of course 'chat forums'.

If either TP or JP take any notice of all of this then there is nothing but speculation over there end of season review and whether TP will be offered an extended contract. I'd hate it if every week they reviewed my week and suggested who might be a better person to do it!!!

But, it is what it is and so....  If you really beleive that West Brom could persuade Brendan Rodgers to switch and come to the Albion would you want him?

Option 1: Tony Pulis - Squad will improve this summer due to new scout - safety in the Premier League Guaranteed
Option 2: Bredan Rodgers - New players and expansive football - potential to go wrong and be in danger of relegation

Personally I'd vote for Ted or Ginger Rogers ahead of Pulis.

Rodgers all day! You cannot be a fan of football if you'd rather have Pulis.

Rogers failed at Liverpool with an endless budget at his disposal and with players of the calibre of Gerrard and Carra in his squad.

Pulis would beat Rogers, hands down, at keeping a team with limited resources in the top flight.

Tidy, I tend to agree with you.

I hated the football this season although some results and performances have been okay, for that reason I would go for Rodgers,
Rodgers failed at Liverpool with a massive budget, at a club like ours that could mean Midlands derbies every other week, wolves, villa, blues, Forrest, derby, Burton Albion and maybe walsall. Not prepared to risk all for a dream as dreams have a habit of becoming nightmares. For that reason I would go for TP, stay up hoping for improvement.

I used to be indecisive but now I am not so sure. I hope there are no high winds, this fence I am sitting on is not to sturdy.

Heart says change head says stick .......... on this occasion for a short time only I am sticking with the devil I know.

There are managers out there who I'd like to see at the Baggies but deluded Brendan isn't one of them.

This guy made countless mistakes at Liverpool. Paid £7million+ for the likes of Aigo Aspas, Luis Alberto, Taigo Ilori who have all been shipped out on loan without playing - the latter wasn't even deemed good enough for Villa. Then there's Lazar Markovic who cost £20m and is out on loan.

This is the guy who bought in Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert in to replace Luis Suarez. Guess where Balotelli has ended up? Out on loan with the rest of his misfit signings...

This is the guy who thought Joe Allen was a Stevie G replacement and kept buying Fabio Borini...

Don't get me wrong, I'd like a manager in who plays better football but I can't help thinking that Rodgers could be a major flop with our budget. He had a good season at Swansea but was quite fortunate that the likes of Scott Sinclair were playing well above their natural level. He never stuck around long enough to prove it wasn't a fluke...

I think people are being a bit harsh on Rodgers. He did well playing good football at Swansea and took Liverpool as close to the title as they've been for years. I think his (lack of) personality weighed heavily against him for Liverpool fans.

Been pondering on this one for a while. While I think Rogers does produce more attacking football, i would say Swansea did have players more suited to that style and certainly Liverpool had. I then thought about what could Rogers do with our squad, the more I thought about it, the more I thought how much the team could do with a good freshen up.

So sad to say, if Pullis can do what he has, with what he has got, then maybe give him some cash and hope he has learnt from the lessons of the past.
