Didn't see it, so can't comment on the officials. So I will - I've never known a game where both sets of fans didn't think the officials were poor, and both didn't think they were biased against their own team. Life in a dog-collar can be a challenge, but I'm soooooooooo glad I'm not a referee.

Very true Vic! Referees have to work on many different days of the week! You stick to Sundays!!
Only joking!! Big Grin
I know we have blue and white tinted specs on but I really think it is time these so called "professional" referees and linesmen become more accountable. Even basic decisions seem beyond some of them.

One simple solution .... the fourth official stops warming the touchline .....the linesman does the subs .... and the fourth official watches the tv monitors away from the action can not be influenced, has instant replays, stops cheating and the majority of clubs being robbed by ref bullying .... fergie Esq,

1 year deals. It's not like we're offering them 5 years plus...

They'll make decent squad players and that I hope is the intention behind new 1 year deals.

The priority has to be our midfield surely over the summer?

You could make a case for offering one of them a new 1 year deal as back up. But both of them being signed up just confirms Pulis' intention to keep playing 4 CB's.

As for midfield being the priority, I could honestly make a case for us needing 15 in and 15 out in the summer. Years of woeful managerial appointments and short-sighted transfer policies have left us with the oldest and slowest squad in the league. As we won't do anywhere near that amount of business we'll just have to hope we bring in 5 or 6 quality starters and demote the championship-quality dross of Gardner, McClean and Olsson to the bench.

Foster
Dawson - New CB - Evans - New LB
Yacob - Fletcher
New RW - New AM - New LW
Rondon

We need to stop signing squad-fillers and back up players... oh and loans because Pulis won't play them.

Sad

Nope they Cant
Norwich just lost and can only get 40 Points  Rolleyes

yes I'm now aware as I avoided that match so i at least had summit to watch on my return from work at 11pm that was a surprise last night for my saturday night bachelor entertainment seeing as watching the albion game was sooooo not on my agenda and wouldn't you know it that the one and only west ham fan in a group of over 100 people i regularly work for who wasn't due in my work place last night decided to pop in to pick up his instrument last night and hence run slap bang into me offering condolences and thanks for the 3 pts grrrrr!

So the aim for us surely has to be at least finish above the newly promoted teams doesn't it? Well lets examine it. We've not won for...... can't remember tbh? We've got one of those teams next in bournemouth who are in and around us so that virtually guarantees 0 pts The other team watford have 3 matches left to our 2 and they include two of the relegation contenders who will be a bag of nerves and our last game is Liverpool anybody think we'll get anything off them? Swansea have 3 games as well but thankfully 3 tough opponents and Palace well they may sneak one more win so the chances are pretty high that we could finish 15th or 16th on 41 points. all this while watford are considering flores future? Tell me you're kidding. Thats just bonkers but maybe they have more ambition than us? Time to turn my attention to speedway methinks! Oh but my team Coventry bees haven't exactly got off to a bright start. Sometimes i wonder what I did wrong :-(

That's how I feel as well about our slow squad - and why I'd mentioned in a previous thread a while back that our successes before were based on mostly kick and rush football. We've had years of bog standard transfer windows that haven't addressed the problem. Nowt wrong with fast counter attacking kick and rush either. For the most part it has probably won Leicester the title this year.

Previous seasons we had Long running his knackers off making something out of a punt up the pitch and most times he did hold it up and bring us up the pitch. No coincidence we're missing him in the squad now. Similarly Odemwingie, Lukaku, Marc Antoine Fortune. They all held the ball up well, created chances, and more importantly helped to cover the fact we've had a very slow defence and midfield for quite some time.

On loans I think we've been terrible as a club at these for quite some time as well. Sandro is playing and it's apparent that he's been told he's playing for a contract here next year. Good performance away at Man City followed by being dragged off against Arsenal. I know I wouldn't sign him up at the end of his loan.

I agree on much of what has been said about the signings we need and those who should be released particularly McClean and Gardner as both are not IMO Up to Prem standard. Also get rid of Berahino ASAP as according to my Dad, he is just not interested. Wonder if we'll get anything close to £20m for him.
