Hibs v the Doonhamers, Sun 1 May 2016

Well our ultimate Championship match kicks off on Sunday and how we've allowed Falkirk to be so close to us, for the runners up spot, is ridiculous and IMO mainly due to two highly committed cup campaigns that have taken us to two cup finals!! I must say I wouldn't change it as it's turned out to be an interesting topsy turvy season but I want Hibs to win something and 'break the mould'. Ideally Scottish Cup and promotion but that's maybe asking for too much.
Re this game v QOS, it's more of Tuesday's good form v the Sons. First and foremost, lets attain the victory and then push on to impose ourselves on QOS with as many goals scored as poss. I reckon Falkirk will try to register a 1-0 win v Morton and I hope they fail. Indeed I hope Morton repeat their 0-3 ER performance - now that would be ironic!!

All we can do is concentrate on the win and see how the Falkirk game pans out. It would be nice if Morton can do us a favour but we shouldn't be relying on other teams to act for us......games / poor results earlier in the campaign have led to this Sundays different scenarios and was up to us to have everything sorted by now. But hey ho this is Hibs and if there is a hard way to do something they will find a way to achieve it Doh

I expect Oxley to be back in goal and for Cummings to be back up front with Stokes. Pity as the twice I have seen Stokes and Keatings together they form a better partnership. Stokes is beginning to show his class now and will be a vital player for us over the next few weeks ......if he could cut out a few of the "clever" flicks and tricks he would be even better.....sometimes less is more!

Will be there for this one so hoping for a few more to be there compared to Tuesday night in order to cheer them on and create some atmosphere. However I feel a lot of hibees will be keeping their powder dry waiting to pay for play off and cup final tickets Sick

I think you're right re the small number of Hibs fans who will show up for this match. There were just over 6k fans who turned up on Tues night v Dumbarton and I expect that figure to rise slightly on Sunday but it won't be impressive. Also Hibs don't help the situation by high pricing their match tickets for such unattractive fixtures. A match ticket v Dumbarton was priced at £22 - IMO far too much! Thumb down

Stokes was excellent midweek and id start him with keatings again. Think we will have to dish out a real doing to queens to ensure 2nd spot. Failing to beat Falkirk has cost us dearly on that front.

If we have to do it the hard way then we have potentially 4 huge ties to negotiate in the run in.

Fingers crossed Lady Luck favours us this weekend and in the crucial weeks ahead. It's about time our fortunes changed for the better anyway and I'll welcome that good fortune as the 'pendulum hopefully swings in our favour' Thumb up

I'll be there on Sunday too, if I can get through the predicted snow drifts! I agree Stokes is improving and can do the clever stuff all right, but he is still not a striker, unless it's from 6 inches. Like Exeter, I'd like to see Stokes and Keatings start again to give them a few games together. We find what might be the perfect formula and we would change it??? I'm looking for another performance similar to Tuesday's and see what happens along the road.

i'm oddly confident about the cup final. Less so about the rest.

I just have this feeling it's going to happen for us this year.

I think Stubbs would be a fool not to field James Keatings because the striker looks like he's 'found his shooting boots' at the right time and on pitches that are starting to dry out. Also the Stokes-Cummings partnership never gelled properly IMO and Stokesy seems to spend a lotta time lecturing Jason because of his poor decision-making in good attacking positions. That must improve considerably if Jason really expects to be in a starting Hibs XI.

first half was a bit slow,2nd half when we played with more pace we looked dangerous and could quite possibly have overcome falkirks goal difference with a bit more sharpness/luck in front of goal.

still we are at least hitting a bit of form going into the playoffs - i think we have lost once out of 9 games to falkirk and raith this season ?. So i think its reasonable to be upbeat about our chances, even though it's been a massive disappointment to finish 3rd.
