Talksport and Harry Redknapp

Gotta say great second half last night and I will give credit where its due to TP for his half time team talk.

I was listening to talksport thus morning with Alan Brazil ( I do like the show ) BUT was very annoyed when they were saying ALLI should maybe get off with punching Yacob because of YACOB's actions throughout the game.

Redknapp said Yacob was a weekly yellow card and Red card man and he had a few tricks up his sleeve and was a typical south American. This made my blood boil. Firstly that slide tackle was a good tackle and Yacob won the ball. Alli is no doubt a great footballer but as we saw at The Hawthorns he dives all over the place and moans constantly at the ref.

Players have been winding each other up for the entire history of the game, that doesn't make it right for Alli to punch Yacob does it? BUT according to Harry the FA should consider mitigation..........UTTER RUBBISH.

To be fair to Claudio he didn't go rolling around the floor and just got on with it and his after match interview he said he didn't remember the incident and said if it happened then leave it on the pitch and let it go. GOOD ON YA CLAUDIO. Alli should be banned for the standard 3 games for violent conduct.

REDKNAPP......Jog ON because NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK...............FOOL

I'm so glad we put a massive spanner in their title hopes but they can't moan because we did the same at Leicester.

Par for the course though isn't it, worldclass? The stupidity of the majority of the media seem to think that certain players and certain clubs are allowed to break the rules when others obviously MUST toe the line and get punished if they don't.

I've got to admit that Yacob isn't my favourite player - he IS always walking on a tightrope with the way he niggles, and when touched he dives about as well as anyone - but that is completely immaterial, and doesn't give anyone, even a bright young English player (!) the right to fekin well punch him!!

I'm afraid it's just yet another example of double standards in the modern game.

Alli punches Yacob but because the youngster is at a certain fashionable Club an 'old hasbeen' states that he feels that the transgression should be overlooked.

On the other hand Leicester's Vardy remonstrates with the referee which results in a second yellow card for a tackle which none other than Roy Hodgson has since said appeared to be fair.

On that basis most of Chelsea's team, renowned for harassing referees, would have spent long periods 'off the park'.

Call me a cynic but I suspect that the powers that be, preferred a Tottenham title and, given an opportunity to scupper Leicester's challenge; took it.

Fortunately our Mr Dawson seems to have put a 'spanner in the works'.

I do wish though that 'Appy Arry would stop spouting drivel and take a job coaching a team far away from these shores...Mars perhaps!!

If being in the face of a opponent and man to man marking is taken out of the game we may as well all give football up
It's been going on since the year dot and will always be part of the game.
Just ask David Beckham Rolleyes
Think he will get punished if i'm honest, can you imagine the outcry if he wasn't ?

Agreed guys, The FA have got to ban him for the last 3 games as that's what violent conduct carries these days. I am also seeing it from the other side. As everyone knows including the throbber 'Arry' (the money was just resting in my dogs account) Redknapp that Yacob is a spoiler so I suggest other teams go out of their way to wind him up. Obviously though angelic Alli wouldn't do that would he as he plays for a London club BUT Yacob playing for an unfashionable midlands club is to blame................................... NURSE.................BEDPAN!!

If he actually said "Typical South American" that's fundamentally racist is it not? If so then he should be charged, will serve him right for parking outside M & S Food on double yellows every Bloody Saturday morning

BB that's exactly what I thought when he said it, I don't know if he later apologised or if the station did But I thought someone producing the show must have heard along with thousands of listeners.

I have emailed the station to ask what the Fool Redknapp meant by his comments. I will update you all should I receive an answer.

Nice one Worldclass, maybe a few more of us should contact Talksport to complain, sadly racist remarks have to be reported to the Police, they will not pick them up for themselves.

I did not hear the interview to be honest, and the Talksport website have not included them in their report of the interview http://talksport.com/football/dele-alli-...lets-punch.

It would have to be very clear for an offence to be committed, that he was referring to the "Typical South American" in a defamatory offensive way and his remarks could not be construed as "it was typical of the South American player to be the one who breaks up the game and spoils."

It will hopefully be a good sharp learning curve for Alli, as he obviously has talent, but now other players/teams have seen he can be wound up to the point of exploding, he is going to get some "special attention" and quite a few sore ankles in the opening months of the new season I suspect.

Off for another search see if I can find a recording of the interview  (MyBB have removed the devil smiliey.. how disappointing  Wink )
