L666s v Town 19-March-2016

What a result! Not just because its against our local rivals, but we really needed the points!

Hands up who was worried that we were not going to win at 1-0 down?
Hands up who uttered the words 'typical Town' after said 1-0???
Hands up who said 'what is Wagner playing at' for bringing off Paterson?
Couldn't have just been me could it? Whistle Big Grin

I had the feeling that Nahki was going to the miss the pen and then when they scored seemingly against the run of play, I feared the worst! Great to get back into it before the break from a CORNER (wow, don't see many of those!) Then, an inspired 2nd half with great subs and its so easy!

I was pleased to see Wells score and also set up the goal for Matmour. I remember at some point recently where he could have squared it across goal, but went for glory and missed! That is team play, which is what I think Wagner is all about!

Honours even I suppose across both games, but I feel that we were the better side in both games, so the win was the least we deserved against them this season. On to the double next season! Big Grin

I'm so fkin predictable:-
I knew Wells would miss the pen (that has to be sorted out this week who does step up and want it)
I thought DW was crazy bringing off Pato who was allover the park and effective
I knew our Fellaini lookalikey was on a harsh yellow but with only 65 mins gone, when he had grown into the game and 2nd half snubbed out anything they looked likely to build, thought that was a real gamble and should have been given another 10 mins
Thankfully it wasnt just me with the delayed response to Wells strike, he must have run back to the half way line before the town support realised, beyond our wildest dreams he'd bagged one finally.
Thats why I'm in the stands I guess.

Hands up Kieran O'Regan as well. He were going potty at Patso coming off.

As for the penalty. I thought he struck it and positioned it fairly well and it was an outstanding save by the keeper. Credit where it's due. He kept the score down. We should've had at least seven.

LOL!

I think we all knew Nahki wouldn't score from the spot, I'd be interested to know what his conversion rate is from pens.

As for the rest of the game, I thought first half was pretty much evens. Neither side did a great deal, Leeds scored from some poor defensive play and Town scored from some poor defensive play and other than that not much else really happened.
Second half much much better from the off, didn't let them settle and the reward came from a corner being cleared to Harry Bunn who put it in off the post, it didn't look the best of strikes but who cares. Once the third goal went in then you could see the game was over and Leeds had fallen to pieces it was just a matter of how many we'd score. I'd comment on the third and fourth goals but due to being right at the far end it was only when the players scored we knew we had scored....shit view

Oh the reporting from the media after this game makes me bloody laugh.
From the BBC website, a couple of comments come to mind:-
"Huddersfield all but ended Leeds United's play-off hopes. Saturday's defeat means they are now 15 points outside the top six with nine matches to play"
"The victory lifted Huddersfield eight points clear of the bottom three in the Championship"

There are 2 points between us in the league....2 points.
From the comments above you would think we are near the bottom and they are near the top. It's not just the L666s fans that are deluded...the media always see us as relegation fodder and that lot as possible title contenders.

Oh how sweet Saturday was.!!!!

Its ludicrous the way the media have been talking up L**ds and their "playoff push"!!! Even if they had won against you they would have been 12 points behind us and would need the 6 teams above them all collapse at an extraordinary rate to see them close that gap on all of them!!

Its typical of the arrogance of their fans and the biased media when it comes to the "Champions of Europe"!!!!

I notice the Yorkshire Post agreed with Evans' "It wasn't a 1-4 game." They said yes, it could have been six or seven! Ee but I am enjoying today!
