Newcastle sack McClaren

If the Sky news guys have it right - the man is going today.

Benitez is a favourite to replace alongside Moyes and even 'Arry.

Benitez would be a bloody good shout. A lot to do but a squad that in theory should be good enough to avoid the drop.

hate to see a manager get sacked
but this one has been on the cards for a while

can see him at the villa next season
not bad at a lower level
just not a premier league manager

Not sure the fans of Derby and Forest would totally agree with you......does an interesting Dutch accent, however so worth hiring just for that.

They should be doing better with the squad they have available to them

Elliott

Dummett Coloccini Taylor Colback

Tiote

Wijnaldum Sissoko Shelvey Townsend

Cisse.

also add these in the mix Janmaat, Lascelles, Anita, Doumbia, Mitrovic, Gouffran, Marveaux, Obertan, Perez.

Surprising that it took them that long to sack him to be honest; IMO a nice enough bloke but how on earth he's managed to get the jobs he has had is beyond me.

Apart from Villa sacking Dim Tim - quite some time ago - is McClaren the only one that's gone from a bottom 6 club this year? Seems unusual when considering what's at stake; chairmen are usually panicking by now

Sunderland sacked Advocaat and Swansea sacked Monk.

Just seen they've appointed Rafa in place of Brolly-Wally. To me that seems just about the polar opposite to Sunderland appointing Big Sam; I'd have thought what they needed right now was discipline and organisation above all else, because their defence is shocking. We'll see whether it pays off for them. (FACT!)
