It's a stature thing. Big available, wee pokey clubs rarely available - and even then only when their playing a big club like ours.
You're right, TWG. A lot of your games are on national TV because you're playing a big club like ours. 
Add our games against Falkirk (twice), Livingston, Alloa, ICT tomorrow, Ross County next weekend and probably more, proves that we, as big clubs, are helping our fellow clubs get more TV exposure than they would normally get.
6 televised games without Rangers as your opposition - and two of those in the cups, one of which (the final) gets televised no matter who's playing in it.
With so many fans that stay at home when you're playing I'm surprised you're not televised more often.
If you finish 3rd you'll probably get another 6 games on the telly - results permitting.

 You just can't help yourself, TWG. However, it's still Hibs on TV that counts, unless Hibs get penalised for non-Rangers opposition.

Every team has fair weather fans!!!! Not sure how there can be an argument about that??? Fathers take kids and other family members to these big games but they will never turn out for a regular game. In both English and Scottish football, ask almost everyone what team they support, they will have an answer for you, but most will only ever go to a handful of games and most of those will be the "big" games.

There's no denying it and I don't think anyone has. But it must be a little frustrating for the club (especially after a couple of years in a lower division) and some of the fans that go to every home game, that their average home gate is just over 9k and they are taking potentially 30k to the final.
That stalwart 9k are the ones that have bankrolled the day in the sun for the 21 thousand "tourists". Im not au fait with the finances at Easter road but I'm certain that 5 or 6k on the gate 20 times a season would make a massive difference to the health and strength of the club.

I am sure its a source of frustration for every club who does not manage to sell out their ground for regular league games. I also would like to say I don't like the term "fair Weather fans", by the descriptions on here I would be one of them but I am by no means a fair weather fan, just one who cannot get to games regularly. People don't go to ordinary games for all sorts of reasons, its up to clubs to provide initiatives etc to attract them more but ultimately its success on the field that always draws more fans to games and Hibs have been a little short of that recently!!!

Football is an entertainment business St Charles Owl. Lotsa people wanna join in to see the entertainment and, in Hibs case, it will be a concert throughout this cup final match and at the end of it - as said previously, 'It's a free world' and many of these people will wanna 'savour the atmosphere' and join in an attractive event like this one with no poisonous activities attached to it as sadly seen at certain other Scottish football matches this season.

It's all about scale. I don't go to every game. 3 games last season and 3 this, but it's a 1000 miles round trip. Family work and finances don't allow me the luxury of following my team the way I did as a boy. No doubt there will be hibs fans travelling equally long or greater distances or with responsibilities that make commitment difficult, but the vast majority I would wager live and work within distances that make the regular support of the club all too possible yet don't. They are fair weather fans.
It's not just Hibs of course, all clubs have them in abundance, still you have to feel for a club that would be challenging for honours far more regularly than they do if just 25% of these cup final attendees that don't go to league games did so.
In Scotland a huge fraction of a club's income is derived from ticket sales and not TV money.
And, while football is an entertainment business, it's one that depends on the participation of the audience in creating and improving the product.

Fair weather fans St Charles Owl? I think you'll have to visit Scotland to appreciate the amount of fair weather is not that evident anyway, particularly during the trying late autumn and winter months lol! As for success on the field, just take note that the last time a non OF team won the top league in Scotland was in 1985 - that's 31 years ago! IMO these long-term unimpressive stats generate a lotta cynicism amongst huge factions of fans throughout Scotland and the issue has evolved through time. It's fairly complex and a lotta folk head south to watch matches. Also a lotta folk pick n choose their matches, even league fixtures on occasions. They go to see a game, pre-book tickets and you dunno what the weather's gonna be like on the day of a game and that's just one poss scenario. It's a fairly complex issue that has been debated before!
