I agree, Beefy, such a shattering blow and so damned unfair. He has been, and still is, such a great player for the Baggies, a really great representative of the club; he gets the chance of a lifetime to play in the Euros and its snatched away from him so cruelly. Should also say that there should be no blame attached to Zaha, it was such an innocuous challenge and probably didn't merit a foul being given. So sorry, Brunty, was really looking forward to seeing  West Bromwich Ireland this summer, it won't be the same without you.

What a terrible few days this player has been through.

After the sickening coin throwing incident, I wouldn't have been surprised if he had asked for a transfer.

BUT no he carried on as only a true professional would in a position which is not natural for him.
And  now he has been cruelly injured and will miss what must have been a prospective dream tournament for him.

Brunty my heart goes out to you Peace dove Peace dove

That's terrible news. Brunty has always been a terrific club man and has ALWAYS done his best for club and country....and now this.
As has been said - what a crap few days he's had.
All the best to him, hope he gets over this cruel setback

Over the past few years I have been quite critical of Brunty, especially when he was Captain HOWEVER I have really appreciated him for probably the last 18 months. No he's not a LB but I think he has done a very good job there and we do miss him when he's out.

I am truly gutted for him and wish him a speedy recovery as to me he has to be in the starting 11. The sad /worrying thing is, will we see him in a Baggies shirt again because 9 months out is a long time. By then surely we will have a proven LB in place and most probably a new squad.

I truly hope he gets back before 9 months. Brunty you will be missed here and the Euro's and you have been one of the most important and consistent players in our Clubs recent History.

Really cruel twist of fate. As said, there was no foul, he just fell down and even that look pretty innocent - stunned such a significant injury has resulted from this.

Probably his only chance to play in an international tournament, so very sad and Brunty did not deserve such bad luck at the end of a terrible week. He will always be an Albion hero to me ....... hope he 'recovers fully and plays for us again but his age and this type of injury in the top flight might be a hurdle to many.

Best wishes Chrissy Brunt Brunt Brunt .......... legend.
