Acceptable content

Our intention is that this forum is suitable to everyone and not just a minority and so whilst accepting this is a sports forum where emotions can be high and people will want to express themselves strongly on occasion, we ask that members refrain from using offensive images, video and language in the threads.

We have asked the moderators to administer this request and we hope that you will be understanding and supporting of this as we look to grow Sportsbabble and make it the ‘go to’ site for sporting conversation.

Images/Video:
We will not allow nudity, sexually suggestive images and video or items that would cause others to be offended. It is important to us that the freedom to post images and video remains in order to support the fantastic content produced my some members in the match day and feature articles being posted.

Language:
We have taken steps to remove the most offensive and will continue to amend the list as required.

Will this be blocked from users commenting ?

I have to agree, Mark. You're being quite ridiculous with this. We're all adults. Even if we weren't adults, kids swear more than we do.
Although the sentiments are right, you've gone about this the wrong way. Now you risk losing these pervert Wendy fans, which as Imre says, is half the membership.
What's wrong with having a quiet word with the ones you think are causing what you see as a problem? Doing it this way has just got people riled.
As for it being the "go to" sports site, be honest, it never is going to be.

For the time being lets keep calm and not jump to any rash decisions. I too am not altogether happy with these new guidelines but lets work together to bring about a solution rather than abusing the guys (Mark and Stairs) who has set up this site in the first place and keeps it running!! For my part I want to see no swear words used to abuse anyone but am happy to accept some as expressions. I do not like the C word and asked for this to be banned and I would be happy to ban the F word if that was the consensus but I think the list is too long as we currently stand.

There has been, and still is, a lot of debate behind the scenes within the moderator and owners group regarding this issue and the reasons for wanting to clean up the language and pictures are numerous, but in my opinion will not sort what it is intended to sort. I am part of this discussion, let me do what I am here to do and in the meantime lets just stay civil until we can sort this.

And Thurnscoe, I would like to say it was me who deleted your latest thread before any accusations fly around. If you wish to know why then please PM me.

I agree with you but I am just trying to diffuse this aggro from spreading onto multiple threads. If a poster has something to say then use the thread below rather than the match thread. You know I don't do heavy handed moderation, so please forgive me on this occasion!!!

One of the main reasons I signed up to New 606 was because we weren't censored.

I'd hazard a guess at me being one of the youngest members on here (definitely the youngest out of the owl's). I'm not offended by any of the language/images (except pei's corpses) because in the grand scheme of things, it is not something worth getting offended by
